Residência Secundária
The Secondary Residence appropriates the name we use to designate summer places and settles in territories that are not traditionally perceived by the collective imagination, as those in which to spend a few days of rest.
The concept consists of gathering, for 7 days and 6 nights, a unique team in an apartment immersed in a territory. The team is composed of an artist, a person who lives or works in the territory in question and a person who works in the governance of the city (elected or agent of a collectivity).
Based on a working theme that is submitted to them (and that has been previously chosen in meetings of residents) they have to produce a collective reflection that nourishes a future artistic realization. This reflection is enriched by the exploration of the neighborhood and by their encounters with the people who live and work there on a daily basis. A logbook will document the creation process and keep the traces of the exchanges, encounters and thought paths traveled in this factory of the “common”.
After a week of collective work, the artist is responsible for producing, in 3 months, a work resulting from the common reflection of the trio during the residency. This work must then be presented in the public space.
